Lucky Strike marked my debut as a short film editor during my time at university, serving as a foundational step in my growth as a post-production artist.

The narrative centres on two long-lost friends whose paths unexpectedly cross under high-stakes, challenging circumstances. As their shared history collides with their present reality, the edit plays a pivotal role in building subtle tension, emotional weight, and unspoken subtext between the leads. Assembling these performances required a sharp focus on micro-expressions, deliberate pacing, and performance selection to ensure the reunion felt both tense and deeply authentic.

Taking on my first major editorial project allowed me to refine my post-production workflow and establish a clear instinct for narrative structure. The film was ultimately awarded Best Debut Film at our university showcase—a proud milestone that validated my artistic direction and laid the groundwork for my approach to picture editing.
